A Word of Thanksgiving ……..

We always thank God, the Father of our LORD Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all God’s people.

Colossians 1:4-5

Believe it or not, the month of November – the second last month of the year – is now upon us.  November is the month in which we celebrate our national day of thanksgiving, and thus I wanted to take time this month to let you know how thankful I am for each of you and specifically those who are doing so much to serve Christ and our church. The challenge of having a new pastor – and a part-time pastor at that – is that it can create a lot of new work!  Unfortunately, the “new work” does not usually replace the “old work” already going on, but you have graciously and generously suffered through my learning curve without complaint!

Indeed, the past couple months have been busy with getting to know one another, and adjusting to a new way of being together in ministry as pastor and people.  And yet the regular work of ministry has carried on, and everyone continues to step up and serve.  When Paul wrote to the believers in Colossae, he was excited to express his joy at the fact that they were devoted to God and to each other.  As we continue to move forward in ministry together, it is my prayer that this becomes more and more a description of who we are as Klamath Falls First United Methodist Church.

I continue to believe that the best days for KFFUMC are still ahead as we seek to be the people God has called us to be.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your willingness to sacrificially serve Christ and his Church, and to live out your love for all of God’s people.

Laurie joins me in wishing you and yours a blessed and gratitude-filled season of Thanksgiving!

In Christ’s Shalom!

Pastor Phil
